Participant Services Representative

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Participant Services Representative is responsible for providing superior service to our retirement plan participants by answering their questions and requests for information. The ideal candidate can anticipate follow-up questions and provide guidance & direction to plan participants in relation to their retirement plan. A successful Participant Services Representative will:

  • Respond to caller questions by obtaining information from the recordkeeping system
  • Explain Plan Rules and government regulations as necessary
  • Assist participants in enrolling in or terminating from their retirement plan
  • Model participant loans and explain plan distribution requirements
  • Respond to electronic participant inquiries and voicemails
  • Assist with various projects and initiatives

Education & Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors degree required
  • Bi-Lingual a plus (Spanish preferred)
  • 2+ years of 401(k) and/or retirement plan knowledge preferred

Regional Pension Consultant – Southeast Territory

We currently have a regional sales opportunity available covering the states of AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, OK and TX . The right individual will build upon their industry experience and a desire to take their career to the next level in the intermediary-sold retirement plan market. As a Regional Pension Consultant, you will be responsible for all territorial management activities, including:

  • Promoting RAI administrative, recordkeeping and investment products and services.
  • Prospecting & supporting relationships with RIAs, financial advisors/brokers, third party administrators and benefits consultants to generate plan prospect sales leads.
  • Cultivating new and existing intermediary relationships via professional one-on-one, group and partner event meetings; communicating with & servicing intermediaries; and setting, meeting & exceeding intermediary expectations.
  • Demonstrating expertise relating to RAI services and value propositions; general industry topics and competitive landscape; as well as qualified plan design issues to intermediaries and plan sponsors in order to consistently close business.
  • Driving the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, needs analysis, fulfillment of proposal requests, sales presentations delivery, objection-handling and ultimate closure.
  • Communicating and coordinating with RAI home office management, sales support, conversion & service staff, including (but not limited to) participating in periodic home office visits, weekly team sales calls, advisor summits, etc.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate prospecting and sales activity information via Salesforce.com, MS Office, proprietary workflow systems, etc.
  • Achieving assigned quarterly and annual sales quotas.

Extensive travel (more than 60%) is required. RAI offers a competitive compensation and T/E reimbursement package. Candidates must currently reside in the territory. No relocation assistance will be provided.

Qualifications Required:

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • Minimum two to four years experience in the qualified retirement plan industry.
  • Existing "network" of intermediary contacts throughout the territory (retirement plan/defined contribution investment advisors, TPA's, etc.).
  • Excellent organization, planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, presentation and selling skills.
  • Demonstrable communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable with/proficient in the use of current technology in business.
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas & deadlines.
  • A firm understanding of:
    • Defined Contribution (i.e. 401(k), Profit Sharing  Money Purchase) and Defined Benefit (including Cash Balance) retirement plans, including knowledge of cross-testing concepts,
    • third party administrator business model,
    • investments, and
    • DOL regulations and IRS Codes, compliance issues and legislation pertaining to qualified retirement plans.
  • BA/BS or equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • Investment License (Series 65) or ability to obtain license within 45 days of hire.
  • AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) or ability to obtain designation within 24 months of hire.

Candidates who do not meet the minimum experience requirement will not be considered.

Measurements of Success:

Success in this position is measured by the achievement of individual sales and sales activity goals set annually, execution of each of the individual job description elements as well as performance in each of the five key RAI success factors (Teamwork, Positive Outlook, Customer Focus and Professional Knowledge & Responsibility).
